Sell Ores Beginner Guide: How to Play and What to Buy First
The loop in one paragraph
Sell Ores is an incremental simulator: everything you do makes cash appear faster. You pull the lever next to your base to roll an ore. The roll shows the ore’s name, rarity band and price. If you can afford it you buy it, carry it to one of the seven mining slots on the floor, and a yellow drill drone drills it into crates. You pick up the crates and sell them at the counter (or, from Floor 3, drop them into the Furnace for 50% more). The cash goes into the upgrade board, ore levels, new floors, pets and rarer ores. The base keeps earning while you are offline, and the game does not kick you for being AFK.
Your first ten minutes
- Finish the tutorial. The code box is locked until you do.
- Redeem the codes. Settings gear (top right), scroll to Enter Code, type each one in capitals. The codes page has all twelve; RELEASE is 500 cash to start with, EXPANSION is a Small Growth Gem, and four of them are 6- or 24-hour time skips you should not use yet.
- Claim the Rewards and Diary panels. They drop cash and an Iron or Amber ore, which is a free Uncommon slot filler.
- Roll until you get Iron. It is a 1-in-32 roll and costs $900. At $18 per ore it out-earns Stone ($5) by a mile. Amber (1 in 128, $15,000, $50 per ore) is the next step.
- Buy the second roll pedestal as soon as you can. Two rolls per pull halves your waiting.
The upgrade board
Every floor has its own board with four stats. In the order that paid off in every playthrough we watched:
- Ore Regen Speed — rarer ores regrow slowly after each drill; this is the first bottleneck.
- Drill Speed — the Floor 1 drone wanders between slots and leaves finished ores sitting. It caps at three levels on Floor 1, so max it.
- Ore Luck — a multiplier on rare rolls (5x, 12x, 24x, 40x seen). Buy it in bursts before a rolling session, not while you cannot afford what you roll.
- Drill Yield — more cash per crate. Useful, but last.
Separate from the board, clicking an ore lets you level it (+1 or +10). Ten levels on an Amber took it from $50 to $159 per ore for $40,000. That button beats another roll almost every time. The full breakdown is on the upgrades page.
Floors
Floor 2 costs $10,000 and unlocks the Boost Pedestal: place a spare ore on it and the whole base earns a percentage more (21% from a Sapphire, 47% from a Nebulite, up to 150% from an Ascended ore). It only works while you are online. Floor 3 adds the Furnace ($150,000): crates dropped in are worth 50% more. Floor 4 is $1M, Floor 7 ($100B) adds the Fuser, and later floors run to a quadrillion. Each new floor has seven more slots and its own board, and its upgrades cost roughly five times the floor below, so fill and upgrade a floor before buying the next. Costs and unlocks are on the floors page.
Ores and rarity
The in-game Index has 70 ores in 12 bands: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Secret, Prismatic, Divine, Exotic, Transcendent, Ascended, Almighty. The odds run from 1 in 4 for Coal to 1 in 50 trillion for the Almighty Primordial, and prices climb about ten times per band past Secret: a Devil Crystal (Transcendent) is $10 trillion, Omnipotence (Ascended) is $3 quadrillion. A rare roll you cannot afford is worth nothing, so hunt one band above what fills your slots. Every ore we have seen, with its odds and price, is on the ore index.
Pets
The Pet Shop in the market sells ten Lucky Blocks from $25M (Common: Cat 50%, Lizard, Parrot, Snail, Owl 2%) up to $25 quadrillion (Transcendent: Griffin, Hydra, Kraken, Wyvern, Dragon). Each block holds five pets at 50/25/15/8/2% odds. Pets give a money boost (a Cat is +8%, a Frog +70%, a Cerberus +1,163%) and you can place two per floor. The developers confirmed on Discord that a pet only boosts the floor it stands on. The first block worth buying is the $250M Uncommon for the Frog; the full roster is on the pets page and the ranking on the pet tier list.
Gear Shop and mutations
Also in the market. Growth Gems speed up regeneration on every placed ore for 5 to 15 minutes (Small $500K, Large $50M, Super $15B, Devil’s $25T), so pop one only when the floor is full. Coatings stamp a permanent sell multiplier on one ore: Rust x1.5 ($10M) is the first that pays for itself, Galaxy x5 ($1T) is the endgame stamp. The UFO, Rust Storm, Blizzard and Galaxy events apply mutations for free at random. Prices and multipliers are on the Gear Shop page.
Mistakes we watched people make
- Spending everything on Ore Luck at level 1 and then being unable to buy the Silver it rolled.
- Using a 24-hour time skip on three Stone ores. A skip pays a day of your current income; wait until Floor 2 is full and a Growth Gem is running.
- Upgrading top floors. One player spent 106 million on a top floor for a 0.4% gain. Keep the best ores on the bottom floors where levels are cheap.
- Fusing coated ores. Mega Ores from the Fuser lose all mutations and levels.
- Buying a Robux pet expecting the best boost. The Kitsune lost to a Cow from a Secret block.
